March 2 ～ 15th 2015We are pleased to announce that the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace will be hosting the 2nd Youth Leadership Camp in Japan in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology (MEXT). Jigoro Kano Memorial International Sport Institute will be operating on behalf of MEXT.
This Camp will invite youth leaders from the Asia and Africa region for two weeks to gain leadership skills and utilize sports as a tool for peace and development. In January of 2014, this Camp was hosted in Tokyo inviting 30 participants from the Asia region. The 2nd Youth Leadership Camp will be hosted in the Tohoku region of Japan during March 2nd and 25th of 2015. Through this 2nd Camp, we hope to be utilizing sports as a catalyst in the disaster struck area as well as demonstrating the use of sports in international development within the country and beyond.
