Council of Europe recommending the issue on promoting the integrity of sport

The Council of Europe adopted the new recommendation on the “promotion of the integrity of sport against manipulation of results, notably match-fixing” which intends to strengthen the commitments of states for protecting the integrity of sport.
The recommendation acknowledges that prevention and combating manipulation of results in all sports requires concrete policies and measures, and needs more international cooperation. It identifies the need to create “a common European framework for the development of sport in Europe”.
